First Sailing - active patrol
U-155 left Kiel under the command of Adolf Cornelius Piening on 7th Feb 1942 and arrived at return on 27th Mar 1942 after nearly seven weeks.
Adolf Cornelius Piening hit three ships on this patrol, two of these ships were in convoy, both of them were from convoy ONS-67.

Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-155 left Lorient under the command of Adolf Cornelius Piening on 7th Nov 1942 and after seven and a half weeks arrived at return on 30th Dec 1942.
Adolf Cornelius Piening hit four ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: three were from convoy MKF-1Y and one was from convoy ON-149.
  • On 15th Nov 1942 he damaged the American 6,736 ton USS Almaack, sailing with convoy MKF-1Y.
  • On 15th Nov 1942 he sank the British 11,279 ton Ettrick, a member of convoy MKF-1Y.
  • On 15th Nov 1942 he sank the British 13,785 ton HMS Avenger, part of convoy MKF-1Y.
  • On 6th Dec 1942 he sank the Dutch 8,456 ton Serooskerk, from convoy ON-149.
08.02.1943 - 30.04.1943
Fifth Sailing - active patrol
On the 8th Feb 1943, U-155 left Lorient under the command of Adolf Cornelius Piening and arrived at return on 30th Apr 1943 after eleven and a half weeks.
On 27th Apr 1943 in square BF 74, U-155 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 172 Squadron. U-155 was not damaged by the attack.
On 28th Apr 1943 in square BF 72, U-155 came under attack from an aircraft of RCAF 407 Squadron. U-155 was not damaged by the attack. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.

  • On 2nd Apr 1943 he sank the Norwegian 1,091 ton Lysefjord.
  • On 3rd Apr 1943 he sank the American 6,882 ton Gulfstate.
