| Operations information for U-180 | 09.02.1943 - 03.07.1943 First Sailing - active patrol
U-180 left Kiel under the command of Werner Musenberg on 9th Feb 1943 and arrived at return on 3rd Jul 1943 after twenty and a half weeks. On 12th May 1943 U-180 came under attack from an aircraft of SAAF 44 Squadron. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft. On 30th Jun 1943 in square BF 74, U-180 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 53 Squadron.
Werner Musenberg hit two ships on this patrol.-
On 18th Apr 1943 he sank the British 8,132 ton Corbis.

On 3rd Jun 1943 he sank the Greek 5,166 ton Boris.

On the 24th Aug 1944, U-180 left Bordeaux under the command of Rolf Riesen and after arrived at return on 23rd Aug 1944.
