U-332 left Kiel under the command of Johannes Liebe on 30th Oct 1941 and arrived at return on 16th Dec 1941 after more than six weeks.
27.01.1942 - 08.02.1942
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 27th Jan 1942, U-332 left La Pallice under the command of Johannes Liebe and after more than one week arrived at return on 8th Feb 1942.
17.02.1942 - 10.04.1942
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-332 departed under Johannes Liebe from La Pallice on 17th Feb 1942 and arrived at return on 10th Apr 1942 after seven and a half weeks.
Johannes Liebe hit four ships on this patrol.
  • On 13th Mar 1942 he sank the American 735 ton Albert F Paul.
  • On 13th Mar 1942 he sank the Yugoslavian 5,042 ton Trepca.
  • On 16th Mar 1942 he sank the American 11,628 ton Australia.
  • On 19th Mar 1942 he sank the American 7,720 ton Liberator.
24.05.1942 - 01.08.1942
Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-332 left La Pallice under the command of Johannes Liebe on 24th May 1942 and after nearly ten weeks arrived at return on 1st Aug 1942.
Johannes Liebe hit two ships on this patrol.
  • On 28th Jun 1942 he sank the American 6,027 ton Raphael Semmes.
  • On 19th Jul 1942 he sank the Greek 4,573 ton Leonidas M.
05.09.1942 - 06.12.1942
Fifth Sailing - active patrol
On the 5th Sep 1942, U-332 left La Pallice under the command of Johannes Liebe and arrived at return on 6th Dec 1942 after just over thirteen weeks.
Johannes Liebe hit two ships on this patrol.
  • On 29th Sep 1942 he sank the British 6,008 ton Registan.
  • On 19th Oct 1942 he sank the British 4,996 ton Rothley.
28.01.1943 - 24.03.1943
Sixth Sailing - active patrol
U-332 departed under Eberhard Hüttemann from La Pallice on 28th Jan 1943 and after nearly eight weeks arrived at return on 24th Mar 1943.
At 1340 HRS on 9th Feb 1943 in square BE 19, U-332 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-332 was not damaged by the attack.
On 21st Mar 1943 in square BF 81, U-332 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 172 Squadron. U-332 was heavily damaged in the attack.
Eberhard Hüttemann hit one ship on this patrol from convoy ON-166.
  • On 21st Feb 1943 he damaged the Norwegian 5,964 ton Stigstad, sailing with convoy ON-166.

Seventh Sailing
U-332 left La Pallice under the command of Eberhard Hüttemann on 26th Apr 1943 and arrived at return on 29th Apr 1943 after three days.
At 0804 HRS on 29th Apr 1943 in square BF 72, U-332 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 224 Squadron. U-332 was destroyed in the attack.
