14.07.1942 - 22.09.1942
First Sailing - active patrol
U-600 left Kiel under the command of Bernhard Zurmühlen on 14th Jul 1942 and arrived at return on 22nd Sep 1942 after ten weeks.
Bernhard Zurmühlen hit three ships on this patrol, two of these ships were in convoy, both of them were from convoy TAW-12.
  • On 10th Aug 1942 he sank the British 130 ton Vivian P Smith.
  • On 13th Aug 1942 he sank the 4,520 ton Everelza, sailing with convoy TAW-12.
  • On 13th Aug 1942 he sank the American 5,032 ton Delmundo, a member of convoy TAW-12.
22.11.1942 - 27.12.1942
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 22nd Nov 1942, U-600 left La Pallice under the command of Bernhard Zurmühlen and after five weeks arrived at return on 27th Dec 1942.
Bernhard Zurmühlen hit one ship on this patrol from convoy HX-217.
  • On 8th Dec 1942 he sank the American 6,762 ton James McKay, part of convoy HX-217.
11.02.1943 - 26.03.1943
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-600 departed under Bernhard Zurmühlen from La Pallice on 11th Feb 1943 and arrived at return on 26th Mar 1943 after just over six weeks.
At 1728 HRS on 17th Mar 1943 in square AK 89, U-600 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-600 was not damaged by the attack.
Bernhard Zurmühlen hit four ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: three were from convoy HX-229 and one was from convoy ON-166.
  • On 24th Feb 1943 he damaged the Norwegian 4,391 ton Ingria, from convoy ON-166.
  • On 17th Mar 1943 he damaged the American 6,125 ton Irénée Du Pont, sailing with convoy HX-229.
  • On 17th Mar 1943 he damaged the British 8,714 ton Nariva, a member of convoy HX-229.
  • On 17th Mar 1943 he sank the British 12,156 ton Southern Princess, part of convoy HX-229.

U-600 left La Pallice under the command of Bernhard Zurmühlen on 25th Apr 1943 and after over two weeks arrived at return on 11th May 1943.
At 2108 HRS on 4th May 1943 in square CG 41, U-600 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 202 Squadron.
12.06.1943 - 10.09.1943

On the 12th Jun 1943, U-600 left La Pallice under the command of Bernhard Zurmühlen and arrived at return on 10th Sep 1943 after nearly thirteen weeks.
At 0948 HRS on 14th Jun 1943 in square BF 72, U-600 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 10 Squadron.

At 0948 HRS on 14th Jun 1943 in square BF 72, U-600 came under attack from an aircraft of RAAF 461 Squadron.
At 1637 HRS on 14th Jun 1943 in square BF 72, U-600 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 10 Squadron.
At 2015 HRS on 14th Jun 1943 in square BF 72, U-600 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 220 Squadron. The boat defended itself with flak and the aircraft was destroyed.
At 2112 HRS on 14th Jun 1943 in square BF 71, U-600 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 547 Squadron. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
At 0903 HRS on 16th Jun 1943 in square BE 95, U-600 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 59 Squadron.
At 1617 HRS on 16th Jun 1943 in square BE 95, U-600 came under attack from an aircraft of RCAF 422 Squadron. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
07.11.1943 - 25.11.1943
Sixth Sailing
U-600 departed under Bernhard Zurmühlen from Brest on 7th Nov 1943 and after two and a half weeks arrived at return on 25th Nov 1943.
