| 05.05.1943 - 16.07.1943 Sixth Sailing - active patrol
U-603 departed under Rudolf Baltz from Brest on 5th May 1943 and after over ten weeks arrived at return on 16th Jul 1943. At 1950 HRS on 12th May 1943 in square BD 66, U-603 came under attack from an aircraft of FAA 811 Squadron. On 4th Jun 1943 in square DF 15, U-603 came under attack from an aircraft of USN VC9 Squadron. U-603 was moderately damaged by the attack. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
Rudolf Baltz hit one ship on this patrol from convoy HX-237.-
On 12th May 1943 he sank the Norwegian 4,819 ton Brand, from convoy HX-237.
