First Sailing
U-606 left Kiel under the command of Hans Klatt on 18th Aug 1942 and arrived at return on 22nd Aug 1942 after four days.
14.09.1942 - 26.09.1942
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 14th Sep 1942, U-606 left Bergen under the command of Dietrich von der Esch and after more than one week arrived at return on 26th Sep 1942.
17.10.1942 - 05.12.1942
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-606 departed under Hans-Heinrich Döhler from Bergen on 17th Oct 1942 and arrived at return on 5th Dec 1942 after seven weeks.
Hans-Heinrich Döhler hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy HX-212.
  • On 28th Oct 1942 he sank the American 8,225 ton Gurney E Newlin, sailing with convoy HX-212.
  • On 28th Oct 1942 he damaged the Norwegian 16,966 ton Kosmos II, a member of convoy HX-212.

U-606 left Brest under the command of Hans-Heinrich Döhler on 4th Jan 1943 and after seven weeks arrived at return on 22nd Feb 1943.
Hans-Heinrich Döhler hit three ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy, all of them from convoy ON-166.
  • On 22nd Feb 1943 he damaged the American 4,959 ton Expositor, part of convoy ON-166.
  • On 22nd Feb 1943 he sank the American 5,687 ton Chattanooga City, from convoy ON-166.
  • On 22nd Feb 1943 he sank the British 6,615 ton Empire Redshank, sailing with convoy ON-166.
