20.08.1942 - 24.09.1942 First Sailing - active patrol U-608 left Kiel under the command of Rolf Struckmeier on 20th Aug 1942 and arrived at return on 24th Sep 1942 after five weeks. At 2030 HRS on 6th Feb 1943 in square AK 68, U-608 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-608 was not damaged by the attack. At 1800 HRS on 7th Feb 1943 in square AK 45, U-608 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-608 was not damaged by the attack. At 2008 HRS on 17th Mar 1943 in square AK 89, U-608 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 120 Squadron. U-608 was not damaged by the attack. Rolf Struckmeier hit one ship on this patrol from convoy SC-118. On 8th Feb 1943 he sank the Norwegian 9,272 ton Daghild, part of convoy SC-118.
