Operations information for U-631
19.12.1942 - 04.02.1943
First Sailing - active patrol
U-631 left Kiel under the command of Jürgen Krüger on 19th Dec 1942 and arrived at return on 4th Feb 1943 after more than six weeks.
At 1358 HRS on 17th Jan 1943 in square AK 32, U-631 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-631 was not damaged by the attack.
Jürgen Krüger hit one ship on this patrol from convoy ONS-156.
  • On 29th Dec 1942 he sank the Norwegian 3,978 ton Ingerfem, sailing with convoy ONS-156.

06.03.1943 - 11.05.1943
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 6th Mar 1943, U-631 left Brest under the command of Jürgen Krüger and after nine and a half weeks arrived at return on 11th May 1943.
On 20th Mar 1943 in square AL 57, U-631 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 201 Squadron. U-631 was only slightly damaged in the attack. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
On 21st Apr 1943 in square AJ 29, U-631 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-631 was not damaged by the attack.
At 0032 HRS on 22nd Apr 1943 in square AJ 29, U-631 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-631 was not damaged by the attack.
Jürgen Krüger hit one ship on this patrol from convoy HX-229.
  • On 17th Mar 1943 he sank the Dutch 5,158 ton Terkoelei, a member of convoy HX-229.

Third Sailing
