First Sailing - active patrol
U-94 left Kiel under the command of Herbert Kuppisch on 20th Nov 1940 and arrived at return on 31st Dec 1940 after nearly six weeks.
Herbert Kuppisch hit three ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: two were from convoy HX-90 and one was from convoy SLS-56.
  • On 2nd Dec 1940 he sank the British 6,022 ton Stirlingshire, sailing with convoy HX-90.
  • On 2nd Dec 1940 he sank the British 6,725 ton Wilhelmina, a member of convoy HX-90.
  • On 11th Dec 1940 he sank the British 5,306 ton Empire Statesman, part of convoy SLS-56.
09.01.1941 - 19.02.1941
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 9th Jan 1941, U-94 left Lorient under the command of Herbert Kuppisch and after nearly six weeks arrived at return on 19th Feb 1941.
Herbert Kuppisch hit three ships on this patrol, two of these ships were in convoy, both of them were from convoy SC-19.
  • On 20th Jan 1941 he sank the British 3,174 ton Florian.
  • On 29th Jan 1941 he sank the British 4,354 ton West Wales, from convoy SC-19.
  • On 30th Jan 1941 he sank the British 5,125 ton Rushpool, sailing with convoy SC-19.
29.03.1941 - 18.04.1941
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-94 departed under Herbert Kuppisch from Lorient on 29th Mar 1941 and arrived at return on 18th Apr 1941 after nearly three weeks.
Herbert Kuppisch hit two ships on this patrol, one was from convoy SC-26.
  • On 4th Apr 1941 he sank the British 5,414 ton Harbledown, a member of convoy SC-26.
  • On 6th Apr 1941 he sank the Norwegian 5,580 ton Lincoln Ellsworth.

U-94 left Lorient under the command of Herbert Kuppisch on 29th Apr 1941 and after just over five weeks arrived at return on 4th Jun 1941.
Herbert Kuppisch hit four ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: two were from convoy HX-126 and two were from convoy OB-318.
  • On 7th May 1941 he sank the Norwegian 5,658 ton Eastern Star, part of convoy OB-318.
  • On 7th May 1941 he sank the British 10,263 ton Ixion, from convoy OB-318.
  • On 20th May 1941 he sank the British 4,718 ton Norman Monarch, sailing with convoy HX-126.
  • On 20th May 1941 he sank the Norwegian 6,128 ton John P Pedersen, a member of convoy HX-126.

U-94 departed under Otto Ites from St. Nazaire on 2nd Sep 1941 and after just over six weeks arrived at return on 15th Oct 1941.
Otto Ites hit four ships on this patrol, two of these ships were in convoy, both of them were from convoy ON-14.
  • On 15th Sep 1941 he sank the British 5,102 ton Newbury.
  • On 15th Sep 1941 he sank the British 5,613 ton Empire Eland, part of convoy ON-14.
  • On 15th Sep 1941 he sank the Greek 5,762 ton Pegasus, from convoy ON-14.

Eighth Sailing - active patrol
On the 12th Feb 1942, U-94 left St. Nazaire under the command of Otto Ites and after seven weeks arrived at return on 2nd Apr 1942.
Otto Ites hit four ships on this patrol, two of these ships were in convoy: One was from convoy ON-66 and one was from convoy ON-77.
  • On 24th Feb 1942 he sank the British 7,005 ton Empire Hail, sailing with convoy ON-66.
  • On 9th Mar 1942 he sank the Brazilian 5,152 ton Cayrú.
  • On 11th Mar 1942 he sank the Norwegian 1,630 ton Hvoslef.

  • On 5th Jun 1942 he sank the Portugese 320 ton Maria de Gloria.
  • On 10th Jun 1942 he sank the British 4,855 ton Ramsay, a member of convoy ONS-100.
  • On 10th Jun 1942 he sank the British 6,147 ton Empire Clough, part of convoy ONS-100.
  • On 11th Jun 1942 he damaged the British 4,458 ton Pontypridd, from convoy ONS-100.

Tenth Sailing
U-94 left St. Nazaire under the command of Otto Ites on 3rd Aug 1942 and after three and a half weeks arrived at return on 28th Aug 1942.
