| Notes for U-96 | U-96 was removed from active duty in February 1943. She went on to training duties with both the 24th and 22nd flotillas in turn, before being decommissioned at Wilhelmshaven on 15th February 1945. U-96 was sunk at Wilhelmshaven during a USAAF raid on 30th March 1945.
