22.08.1944 - 24.08.1944 First Sailing U-1004 left Kiel under the command of Hartmuth Schimmelpfennig on 22nd Aug 1944 and arrived at return on 24th Aug 1944 after two days.
26.08.1944 - 27.08.1944 Second Sailing On the 26th Aug 1944, U-1004 left Horten under the command of Hartmuth Schimmelpfennig and after one day arrived at return on 27th Aug 1944.
29.08.1944 - 23.10.1944 Third Sailing - active patrol U-1004 departed under Hartmuth Schimmelpfennig from Marviken on 29th Aug 1944 and arrived at return on 23rd Oct 1944 after nearly eight weeks.
26.10.1944 - 27.10.1944 Fourth Sailing U-1004 left Bergen under the command of Hartmuth Schimmelpfennig on 26th Oct 1944 and after one day arrived at return on 27th Oct 1944.
02.01.1945 - 11.01.1945 Fifth Sailing On the 2nd Jan 1945, U-1004 left Bergen under the command of Rudolf Hinz and arrived at return on 11th Jan 1945 after just over one week.
27.01.1945 - 20.03.1945 Sixth Sailing - active patrol U-1004 departed under Rudolf Hinz from Bergen on 27th Jan 1945 and after seven and a half weeks arrived at return on 20th Mar 1945. Rudolf Hinz hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy BTC-76. On 22nd Feb 1945 he sank the Canadian 980 ton HMCS Trentonian, sailing with convoy BTC-76. On 22nd Feb 1945 he sank the British 1,313 ton Alexander Kennedy, a member of convoy BTC-76.
