16.01.1945 - 17.01.1945 First Sailing U-1022 left Kiel under the command of Hans-Joachim Ernst on 16th Jan 1945 and arrived at Kalundborg on 17th Jan 1945 after one day.
22.01.1945 - 23.01.1945 Second Sailing On the 22nd Jan 1945, U-1022 left Kalundborg under the command of Hans-Joachim Ernst and after one day arrived at Horten on 23rd Jan 1945.
29.01.1945 - 08.02.1945 Third Sailing U-1022 departed under Hans-Joachim Ernst from Horten on 29th Jan 1945 and arrived at Bergen on 8th Feb 1945 after one and a half weeks.
12.02.1945 - 01.04.1945 Fourth Sailing - active patrol U-1022 left Bergen under the command of Hans-Joachim Ernst on 12th Feb 1945 and returned nearly seven weeks later to Bergen on 1st Apr 1945. Hans-Joachim Ernst hit two ships on this patrol, one was from convoy UR-155. On 28th Feb 1945 he sank the Panamanian 1,392 ton Alcedo, sailing with convoy UR-155. On 3rd Mar 1945 he sank the British 328 ton HMS Southern Flower.
