U-1232 left Kiel under the command of Kurt Dobratz on 28th Oct 1944 and arrived at Horten on 31st Oct 1944 after three days.
| 10.11.1944 - 14.02.1945 Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 10th Nov 1944, U-1232 left Horten under the command of Kurt Dobratz and after more than thirteen weeks arrived at Marviken on 14th Feb 1945.
Kurt Dobratz hit five ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: three were from convoy BX-141 and two were from convoy SH-194.

On 4th Jan 1945 he sank the Norwegian 1,595 ton Polarland, sailing with convoy SH-194.

On 4th Jan 1945 he damaged the Canadian 2,373 ton Nipiwan Park, a member of convoy SH-194.

On 14th Jan 1945 he sank the British 6,985 ton British Freedom, part of convoy BX-141.

On 14th Jan 1945 he fatally damaged the American 7,176 ton Martin Van Buren, from convoy BX-141.

On 14th Jan 1945 he sank the British 8,779 ton Athelviking, sailing with convoy BX-141.
