U-124 left Wilhelmshaven under the command of Georg-Wilhelm Schulz on 19th Aug 1940 and arrived at return on 16th Sep 1940 after four weeks.
Georg-Wilhelm Schulz hit three ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy, all of them from convoy HX-65A.
  • On 25th Aug 1940 he damaged the British 3,900 ton Stakesby, sailing with convoy HX-65A.

On the 5th Oct 1940, U-124 left Lorient under the command of Georg-Wilhelm Schulz and after five and a half weeks arrived at return on 13th Nov 1940.
Georg-Wilhelm Schulz hit five ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: two were from convoy HX-82, two were from convoy OB-229 and one was from convoy SC-7.

U-124 departed under Johann Mohr from Lorient on 4th May 1942 and arrived at return on 26th Jun 1942 after seven and a half weeks.

Tenth Sailing - active patrol
U-124 left Lorient under the command of Johann Mohr on 25th Nov 1942 and after eleven and a half weeks arrived at return on 13th Feb 1943.
On 1st Jan 1943 in square EO 24, U-124 came under attack from an aircraft of USN VP-53 Squadron. U-124 was not damaged by the attack. The aircraft was destroyed during the attack.
Johann Mohr hit five ships on this patrol, four of these ships were in convoy, all of them from convoy TB-1.
  • On 28th Dec 1942 he sank the British 4,692 ton Treworlas.
  • On 9th Jan 1943 he sank the American 4,554 ton Minotaur, part of convoy TB-1.
  • On 9th Jan 1943 he sank the American 5,101 ton Collingsworth, from convoy TB-1.

On the 27th Mar 1943, U-124 left Lorient under the command of Johann Mohr and arrived at return on 2nd Apr 1943 after six days.
Johann Mohr hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy OS-45.
  • On 2nd Apr 1943 he sank the British 4,357 ton Katha, part of convoy OS-45.
  • On 2nd Apr 1943 he sank the British 5,190 ton Gogra, from convoy OS-45.
