07.09.1941 - 21.10.1941
First Sailing - active patrol
U-132 left Trondheim under the command of Ernst Vogelsang on 7th Sep 1941 and arrived at Kirkenes on 21st Oct 1941 after over six weeks.
Ernst Vogelsang hit one ship on this patrol.
  • On 18th Oct 1941 he sank the Soviet 3,487 ton Argun.
Vogelsang reported sinking another vessel on 18th October after the Argun, this was probably the Soviet SKR-11, a 557 ton A/S trawler.
25.10.1941 - 30.10.1941
Second Sailing
On the 25th Oct 1941, U-132 left Kirkenes under the command of Ernst Vogelsang and after five days arrived at Trondheim on 30th Oct 1941.
15.01.1942 - 08.02.1942
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-132 departed under Ernst Vogelsang from Trondheim on 15th Jan 1942 and arrived at La Pallice on 8th Feb 1942 after three and a half weeks.
Ernst Vogelsang hit one ship on this patrol from convoy HX-170.
  • On 29th Jan 1942 he fatally damaged the American 2,216 ton USCGC Alexander Hamilton, sailing with convoy HX-170.

USCGC Alexander Hamilton after being fatally damaged by U-132 was sunk by gunfire from USS Ericcson and depth charges from the USS Livermore on 30th Jan 1942. Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-132 left La Pallice under the command of Ernst Vogelsang on 10th Jun 1942 and returned nine and a half weeks later to La Pallice on 16th Aug 1942.
Ernst Vogelsang hit five ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: One was from convoy ON-113, three were from convoy QS-15 and one was from convoy QS-19.
  • On 6th Jul 1942 he sank the British 2,555 ton Dinaric, a member of convoy QS-15.
  • On 6th Jul 1942 he sank the Greek 3,382 ton Anastassios Pateras, part of convoy QS-15.
  • On 6th Jul 1942 he sank the Belgian 4,312 ton Hainaut, from convoy QS-15.
  • On 20th Jul 1942 he fatally damaged the British 4,367 ton Frederika Lensen, sailing with convoy QS-19.
  • On 30th Jul 1942 he sank the British 6,734 ton Pacific Pioneer, a member of convoy ON-113.
06.10.1942 - 04.11.1942
Fifth Sailing - active patrol
On the 6th Oct 1942, U-132 left La Pallice under the command of Ernst Vogelsang. On the 4th Nov 1942, U-132 was sunk.
Ernst Vogelsang hit three ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy, all of them from convoy SC-107.
  • On 4th Nov 1942 he sank the Dutch 5,507 ton Hobbema, part of convoy SC-107.
  • On 4th Nov 1942 he sank the British 6,379 ton Empire Lynx, from convoy SC-107.
  • On 4th Nov 1942 he damaged the British 6,690 ton Hatimura, sailing with convoy SC-107.
