17.06.1942 - 09.10.1942 First Sailing U-171 left Kiel under the command of Günther Pfeffer on 17th Jun 1942 and arrived at return on 9th Oct 1942 after over sixteen weeks. Günther Pfeffer hit three ships on this patrol. On 26th Jul 1942 he sank the 4,351 ton Oaxaca. On 13th Aug 1942 he sank the American 6,779 ton RM Parker Jr. On 4th Sep 1942 he sank the 6,511 ton Amatlan.
