First Sailing - active patrol
U-260 left Kiel under the command of Hubertus Purkhold on 10th Sep 1942 and arrived at Lorient on 15th Nov 1942 after nine and a half weeks.
14.12.1942 - 03.02.1943
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 14th Dec 1942, U-260 left Lorient under the command of Hubertus Purkhold and after over seven weeks arrived at St. Nazaire on 3rd Feb 1943.
Hubertus Purkhold hit one ship on this patrol from convoy ONS-154.
  • On 28th Dec 1942 he sank the British 4,893 ton Empire Wagtail, sailing with convoy ONS-154.
