On the 13th Apr 1944, U-407 left Salamis under the command of Hubertus Korndörfer and arrived back at Salamis on 10th May 1944 after nearly four weeks on patrol.
Hubertus Korndörfer hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy UGS-37.
  • On 16th Apr 1944 he fatally damaged the American 7,176 ton Thomas G Masaryk, a member of convoy UGS-37.
  • On 16th Apr 1944 he sank the American 7,210 ton Meyer London, part of convoy UGS-37.
21.08.1944 - 04.09.1944
Twelfth Sailing - active patrol
U-407 departed under Hubertus Korndörfer from Salamis on 21st Aug 1944 and returned two weeks later to Salamis on 4th Sep 1944.
09.09.1944 - 19.09.1944
Thirteenth Sailing - active patrol
U-407 left Salamis under the command of Hans Kolbus on 9th Sep 1944. On the 19th Sep 1944, U-407 was sunk.
