27.02.1943 - 04.03.1943
First Sailing
U-415 left Kiel under the command of Kurt Neide on 27th Feb 1943 and arrived at Bergen on 4th Mar 1943 after five days.
07.03.1943 - 05.05.1943
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 7th Mar 1943, U-415 left Bergen under the command of Kurt Neide and after eight and a half weeks arrived at Brest on 5th May 1943.
At 0820 HRS on 1st May 1943 in square BF 74, U-415 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 503 Squadron. U-415 was moderately damaged by the attack. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
At 1136 HRS on 1st May 1943 in square BF 74, U-415 came under attack from an aircraft of RAAF 461 Squadron.
At 1735 HRS on 1st May 1943 in square BF 71, U-415 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 612 Squadron. U-415 was moderately damaged by the attack. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
Kurt Neide hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy ONS-3.
  • On 21st Apr 1943 he sank the British 4,917 ton Ashantian, sailing with convoy ONS-3.
  • On 21st Apr 1943 he damaged the British 5,486 ton Wanstead, a member of convoy ONS-3.

Third Sailing - active patrol
U-415 departed under Kurt Neide from Brest on 12th Jun 1943 and arrived back at Brest on 8th Sep 1943 after twelve and a half weeks on patrol.
At 0913 HRS on 14th Jun 1943 in square BF 76, U-415 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 307 Squadron. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
At 1554 HRS on 14th Jun 1943 in square BF 78, U-415 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 10 Squadron.
At 0752 HRS on 15th Jun 1943 in square BE 99, U-415 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 502 Squadron. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
27.10.1943 - 02.11.1943
Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-415 left Brest under the command of Kurt Neide on 27th Oct 1943 and returned six days later to Brest on 2nd Nov 1943.
21.11.1943 - 06.01.1944
Fifth Sailing - active patrol
On the 21st Nov 1943, U-415 left Brest under the command of Kurt Neide and arrived back at Brest six and a half weeks later on 6th Jan 1944.
Kurt Neide hit one ship on this patrol from convoy OS-62.
  • On 24th Dec 1943 he sank the British 1,340 ton HMS Hurricane, part of convoy OS-62.
02.03.1944 - 31.03.1944
Sixth Sailing - active patrol
U-415 departed under Kurt Neide from Brest on 2nd Mar 1944 and returned to Brest on 31st Mar 1944 after just over four weeks on patrol.

U-415 left Brest under the command of Herbert A. Werner on 6th Jun 1944 and arrived back at Brest on 8th Jun 1944 after two days on patrol.

Eighth Sailing - active patrol
On the 11th Jul 1944, U-415 left Brest under the command of Herbert A. Werner and returned two days later to Brest on 13th Jul 1944.
