25.05.1941 - 01.08.1941 First Sailing - active patrol U-561 left Kiel under the command of Robert Bartels on 25th May 1941 and arrived at Brest on 1st Aug 1941 after more than nine weeks. Robert Bartels hit one ship on this patrol from convoy OG-69. On 28th Jul 1941 he sank the British 1,884 ton Wrotham, sailing with convoy OG-69.
