Claus Korth hit one ship on this patrol.
  • On 13th Dec 1939 he sank the Soviet 1,173 ton Mina.
16.01.1940 - 25.01.1940
Ninth Sailing - active patrol
U-57 departed under Claus Korth from Kiel on 16th Jan 1940 and arrived at Wilhelmshaven on 25th Jan 1940 after just over one week.
Claus Korth hit one ship on this patrol.
  • On 20th Jan 1940 he sank the Norwegian 1,328 ton Miranda.

Tenth Sailing - active patrol
U-57 left Wilhelmshaven under the command of Claus Korth on 8th Feb 1940 and returned to Wilhelmshaven on 25th Feb 1940 after two and a half weeks on patrol.
Claus Korth hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy: One was from convoy HX-18 and one was from convoy HX-19.
  • On 14th Feb 1940 he fatally damaged the British 10,191 ton Gretafield, sailing with convoy HX-18.
  • On 21st Feb 1940 he damaged the British 4,996 ton Loch Maddy, a member of convoy HX-19.

14.03.1940 - 29.03.1940
Eleventh Sailing - active patrol
On the 14th Mar 1940, U-57 left Wilhelmshaven under the command of Claus Korth and arrived back at Wilhelmshaven on 29th Mar 1940 after just over two weeks on patrol.
Claus Korth hit one ship on this patrol.
  • On 25th Mar 1940 he sank the British 5,742 ton Daghestan.
04.04.1940 - 07.05.1940
Twelfth Sailing - active patrol
U-57 departed under Claus Korth from Wilhelmshaven on 4th Apr 1940 and after more than four weeks arrived at Kiel on 7th May 1940.
11.07.1940 - 20.07.1940
Thirteenth Sailing
U-57 left Kiel under the command of Erich Topp on 11th Jul 1940 and arrived at Bergen on 20th Jul 1940 after just over one week.
Erich Topp hit two ships on this patrol, one was from convoy HX-55A.
  • On 17th Jul 1940 he sank the Swedish 1,960 ton OA Brodin.
  • On 17th Jul 1940 he sank the British 8,652 ton Manipur, part of convoy HX-55A.
22.07.1940 - 07.08.1940
Fourteenth Sailing - active patrol
On the 22nd Jul 1940, U-57 left Bergen under the command of Erich Topp and after over two weeks arrived at Lorient on 7th Aug 1940.
Erich Topp hit one ship on this patrol.
  • On 3rd Aug 1940 he sank the Swedish 2,161 ton Atos.
14.08.1940 - 03.09.1940
Fifteenth Sailing - active patrol
U-57 departed under Erich Topp from Lorient on 14th Aug 1940. On the 3rd Sep 1940, U-57 was sunk.
Erich Topp hit four ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: One was from convoy HX-65B and three were from convoy OB-202.
  • On 24th Aug 1940 he damaged the British 5,407 ton Havildar, from convoy OB-202.
  • On 24th Aug 1940 he sank the British 5,681 ton Saint Dunstan, sailing with convoy OB-202.
  • On 24th Aug 1940 he sank the British 10,939 ton Cumberland, a member of convoy OB-202.
  • On 25th Aug 1940 he sank the British 7,468 ton Pecten, part of convoy HX-65B.
