First Sailing - active patrol
U-619 left Kiel under the command of Kurt Makowski on 10th Sep 1942. U-619 was lost on 5th Oct 1942.
Kurt Makowski hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy: One was from convoy ON-131 and one was from convoy RB-1.
  • On 24th Sep 1942 he sank the American 7,176 ton John Winthrop, sailing with convoy ON-131.
  • On 26th Sep 1942 he sank the British 1,547 ton Yorktown, a member of convoy RB-1.
