29.09.1942 - 05.11.1942
First Sailing - active patrol
U-621 left Kiel under the command of Horst Schünemann on 29th Sep 1942 and arrived at Brest on 5th Nov 1942 after over five weeks.
Horst Schünemann hit one ship on this patrol from convoy ONS-136.
  • On 23rd Oct 1942 he sank the British 6,113 ton Empire Turnstone, sailing with convoy ONS-136.
05.12.1942 - 05.01.1943
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 5th Dec 1942, U-621 left Brest under the command of Max Kruschka and returned to Brest on 5th Jan 1943 after four and a half weeks on patrol.
Max Kruschka hit two ships on this patrol, one was from convoy ONS-152.
  • On 18th Dec 1942 he sank the Greek 4,474 ton Oropos, a member of convoy ONS-152.
  • On 20th Dec 1942 he sank the British 6,217 ton Otina.
01.02.1943 - 23.03.1943
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-621 departed under Max Kruschka from Brest on 1st Feb 1943 and arrived back at Brest on 23rd Mar 1943 after just over seven weeks on patrol.
At 2145 HRS on 24th Feb 1943 in square BC 91, U-621 came under attack from an aircraft of RCAF 5 Squadron. U-621 was only slightly damaged in the attack.
At 0915 HRS on 21st Mar 1943 in square BF 48, U-621 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 311 Squadron. U-621 was not damaged by the attack.
At 1902 HRS on 21st Mar 1943 in square BF 47, U-621 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 311 Squadron. U-621 was not damaged by the attack.
Max Kruschka hit one ship on this patrol from convoy ONS-169.
  • On 11th Mar 1943 he sank the British 3,355 ton Baron Kinnaird, part of convoy ONS-169.
22.04.1943 - 03.06.1943
Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-621 left Brest under the command of Max Kruschka on 22nd Apr 1943 and returned six weeks later to Brest on 3rd Jun 1943.
At 1842 HRS on 31st May 1943 in square BF 44, U-621 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 224 Squadron. U-621 was moderately damaged by the attack. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.

Hermann Stuckmann hit one ship on this patrol.
  • On 15th Jun 1944 he damaged the American 1,625 ton USS LST-280.
15.07.1944 - 11.08.1944
Ninth Sailing - active patrol
U-621 departed under Hermann Stuckmann from Brest on 15th Jul 1944 and arrived back at Brest nearly four weeks later on 11th Aug 1944.
Hermann Stuckmann hit two ships on this patrol.
  • On 29th Jul 1944 he sank the British 2,938 ton HMS Prince Leopold.
  • On 30th Jul 1944 he damaged the British 10,048 ton Ascanius.
