| Operations information for U-630 | 18.03.1943 - 06.05.1943 First Sailing
U-630 left Kiel under the command of Werner Winkler on 18th Mar 1943 and arrived at return on 6th May 1943 after seven weeks. On 22nd Mar 1943 in square AF 71, U-630 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 612 Squadron.
Werner Winkler hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy HX-231.-
On 5th Apr 1943 he sank the British 5,529 ton Shillong, sailing with convoy HX-231.
