U-76 left Kiel under the command of Friedrich von Hippel on 19th Mar 1941 and arrived at Bergen on 26th Mar 1941 after one week.
| 28.03.1941 - 05.04.1941 Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 28th Mar 1941, U-76 left Bergen under the command of Friedrich von Hippel. U-76 was sunk on 5th Apr 1941.
Friedrich von Hippel hit two ships on this patrol, one was from convoy SC-26.-
On 3rd Apr 1941 he sank the Finnish 1,939 ton Daphne.

On 4th Apr 1941 he sank the British 5,351 ton Athenic, sailing with convoy SC-26.
