19.05.1940 - 07.06.1940
First Sailing - active patrol
U-8 left Kiel under the command of Eitel-Friedrich Kentrat on 19th May 1940 for operations W of the Orkneys and Pentland Firth and arrived back at Kiel more than two weeks later on 7th Jun 1940.

Notes for U-8
U-8 was decommissioned at Wilhelmshaven on 31st March 1945. It was scuttled there on 5th May 1945 and later broken up.
