20.05.1944 - 26.05.1944 First Sailing U-862 left Kiel under the command of Heinrich Timm on 20th May 1944 and arrived at Bergen on 26th May 1944 after six days.
27.05.1944 - 30.05.1944 Second Sailing On the 27th May 1944, U-862 left Bergen under the command of Heinrich Timm and after three days arrived at Narvik on 30th May 1944.
03.06.1944 - 09.09.1944 Third Sailing - active patrol U-862 departed under Heinrich Timm from Narvik on 3rd Jun 1944 and arrived at Penang on 9th Sep 1944 after fourteen weeks. Heinrich Timm hit five ships on this patrol. On 25th Jul 1944 he sank the American 6,885 ton Robin Goodfellow. On 13th Aug 1944 he sank the British 3,614 ton Radbury. On 16th Aug 1944 he sank the British 7,037 ton Empire Lancer. On 18th Aug 1944 he sank the British 5,414 ton Nairung. On 19th Aug 1944 he sank the British 5,068 ton Wayfarer.
05.11.1944 - 07.11.1944 Fourth Sailing U-862 left Penang under the command of Heinrich Timm on 5th Nov 1944 and after two days arrived at Batavia on 7th Nov 1944.
18.11.1944 - 15.02.1945 Fifth Sailing - active patrol On the 18th Nov 1944, U-862 left Batavia under the command of Heinrich Timm and arrived back at Batavia more than twelve weeks later on 15th Feb 1945. Heinrich Timm hit two ships on this patrol. On 24th Dec 1944 he sank the American 7,180 ton Robert J Walker. On 6th Feb 1945 he sank the American 7,176 ton Peter Silvester.
18.02.1945 - 20.02.1945 Sixth Sailing U-862 departed under Heinrich Timm from Batavia on 18th Feb 1945 and after two days arrived at Singapore on 20th Feb 1945.
