U-92 left Kiel under the command of Adolf Oelrich on 12th Aug 1942 and arrived at return on 25th Sep 1942 after over six weeks.
24.10.1942 - 28.12.1942
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 24th Oct 1942, U-92 left Brest under the command of Adolf Oelrich and after over nine weeks arrived at return on 28th Dec 1942.
Adolf Oelrich hit one ship on this patrol from convoy MKS-1X.
  • On 16th Nov 1942 he sank the British 7,622 ton Clan Mactaggart, sailing with convoy MKS-1X.
06.02.1943 - 05.03.1943
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-92 departed under Adolf Oelrich from Brest on 6th Feb 1943 and arrived at return on 5th Mar 1943 after nearly four weeks.
Adolf Oelrich hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy ON-166.
  • On 21st Feb 1943 he sank the British 9,990 ton Empire Trader, a member of convoy ON-166.
  • On 22nd Feb 1943 he damaged the Norwegian 9,348 ton NT Nielsen-Alonso, part of convoy ON-166.

U-92 left Brest under the command of Adolf Oelrich on 12th Apr 1943 and after more than ten weeks arrived at return on 26th Jun 1943.
On 14th Apr 1943 U-92 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 10 Squadron. U-92 was only slightly damaged in the attack.
At 0924 HRS on 19th May 1943 in square AK 54, U-92 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 224 Squadron. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
On 23rd May 1943 in square AK 96, U-92 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 423 Squadron.
16.09.1943 - 17.09.1943

On the 16th Sep 1943, U-92 left Brest under the command of Horst-Thilo Queck and arrived at return on 17th Sep 1943 after one day.

U-92 left Brest under the command of Wilhelm Brauel on 17th Aug 1944 and after just over six weeks arrived at return on 29th Sep 1944.
Wilhelm Brauel hit one ship on this patrol.
  • On 27th Aug 1944 he fatally damaged the American 1,625 ton USS LST-327.
