Otto Westphalen hit three ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: One was from convoy BK-3 and two were from convoy RA-64.
  • On 14th Feb 1945 he fatally damaged the Norwegian 8,129 ton Norfjell, sailing with convoy BK-3.
  • On 17th Feb 1945 he fatally damaged the British 1,350 ton HMS Lark, a member of convoy RA-64.
  • On 17th Feb 1945 he sank the American 7,176 ton Thomas Scott, part of convoy RA-64.

Thirteenth Sailing - active patrol
U-968 left Kilbotn under the command of Otto Westphalen on 12th Mar 1945 and arrived back at Kilbotn two and a half weeks later on 30th Mar 1945.
Otto Westphalen hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy JW-65.
  • On 20th Mar 1945 he sank the British 1,350 ton HMS Lapwing, from convoy JW-65.
  • On 20th Mar 1945 he sank the American 7,210 ton Thomas Donaldson, sailing with convoy JW-65.
21.04.1945 - 06.05.1945
Fourteenth Sailing - active patrol
On the 21st Apr 1945, U-968 left Kilbotn under the command of Otto Westphalen and after just over two weeks arrived at Harstad on 6th May 1945.
07.05.1945 - 07.05.1945
Fifteenth Sailing
U-968 departed under Otto Westphalen from Harstad on 7th May 1945 and arrived at Skjomenfjord on the same day.
