Convoy LMD-17 comprised six ships.� The Master, 20 crew, 4 gunners and two DBS were rescued by the British trawler HMS St. Loman (FY.276) (Lt. R.C. Warwick, DSC) and landed at Durban.� Eleven crew and one gunner were lost.
