20.02.1943 – 30.03.1943 First Sailing – active patrol U-190 left Kiel under the command of Max Wintermeyer on 20th Feb 1943 and arrived at Lorient on 30th Mar 1943 after five and a half weeks. On 27th Mar 1943 in square BF 44, U-190 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-190 was not damaged by the attack. At 0025 HRS on 28th Mar 1943 in square BF 45, U-190 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. At 1105 HRS on 28th Mar 1943 in square BF 46, U-190 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 304 Squadron. U-190 was not damaged by the attack. Max Wintermeyer hit one ship on this patrol from convoy SC-121.

01.05.1943 – 19.08.1943 Second Sailing – active patrol On the 1st May 1943, U-190 left Lorient under the command of Max Wintermeyer and returned to Lorient on 19th Aug 1943 after more than fifteen weeks on patrol. On 4th May 1943 in square BF 45, U-190 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 58 Squadron. U-190 was moderately damaged by the attack.
